Hi, I have actually bought the Lenovos from your list, I have 3 children and I bought them one each as a much cheaper alternative to iPads.

They work well on the wifi and once I got used to the google play store (i am used to apple)

And they have an awesome battery life compared to our old ipad. However they are all 3 a little bit glitchy for want of a better word. They frequently need resetting due to the sound not turning off, or down, or just jumping out of apps. I have done numerous reformats but to no avail. I just figure, well they are cheap so we will just roll with it. So i would probably recommend if you can get something better for the same price, please do!

    Cheers, Kris

Thanks for letting me know, Kris. It’s a shame that it has that problem. As you say, it is a cheap tablet, so maybe you sometimes get what you pay for.

I have never owned a tablet since I have always thought that they were just way to expensive and that my phone does the same thing, but since they are under 90 dollars it seems like now is the time to buy one. I think the fire hd one will suit me well as I need one for ebooks. Have you got that tablet, if you do what do you think of it?

Hi Andrew. No, I have never actually owned a Fire HD tablet myself, but it is very popular and has a lot of positive comments on Amazon from previous customers.

just bought and returned next day a Protab 7 inch tablet 1 gb, and 16gb. Cost A$89. Nice display and build. Very poor wifi connection, locked into Google so you cannot get any apps unless you go via Google mbshp. They also will only confirm by phone text and charge you for it. looks as if this one is set up to provide Google with business!

I am actually in the market for a new tablet so I found this post very informative. It looks like there are a lot of options out there for me.

I am looking to use my tablet for a lot of reading and research. With that in mind, what would you recommend as a tablet.

    Thanks,
